Overland Kosova (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the Overland Kosovamobile application (the “App”, package ID: com.overlandkosova.overland_kosova). This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account registration: Email address and display name when you create an account.
- Profile: Optional profile photo and bio.
- Condition reports: Text and photos you submit about trail conditions.
1.2 Location Data
- GPS track recording: When you use the recording feature, we collect your precise location to create a GPX track file.
- Live sharing: If you enable live tracking, your real-time location is shared via a temporary link until you stop the session.
- Map browsing: We do not collect your location simply from browsing the map.
Location access is requested only when you actively use recording or live sharing features. You can deny location permission at any time in your device settings.
1.3 Automatically Collected Data
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
- Crash logs and error reports (to improve stability)
We do not collect advertising identifiers or use third-party analytics SDKs.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the App (maps, trail data, recording, live sharing)
- To display your recorded tracks and condition reports
- To send essential service notifications (account-related only, no marketing without consent)
- To diagnose and fix crashes
- To improve trail data quality based on aggregated, anonymized usage
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising profiling.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase (PostgreSQL database and file storage), hosted on AWS servers in the EU region.
- All connections are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
- Passwords are hashed. We never store plaintext passwords.
- Row-level security policies restrict access so users can only access their own data.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
- Infrastructure providers: Supabase (data storage) and Vercel (website hosting). These processors handle data solely to provide services to us, under data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect user safety.
- Live share links: If you generate a live tracking link, anyone with that link can view your real-time location until you stop the session. You control this entirely. The link expires when you end the session.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings
- Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
- Export your recorded GPS tracks in GPX format from within the App
- Withdraw location consent at any time via device settings

6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Deleted accounts are purged from our systems within 30 days. Condition reports and trail contributions may be retained in anonymized form to maintain trail data quality.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
